Corruption : Is marching on the streets an answer to it?

I have been following the campaign closely, be it controversy about the drafts, the formation of the Team Anna, creation of the India Aganist corruption portal or the fast aftermaths, I still fail to understand the Brouhaha around it.
What the Team feels is that once we hav a law in place, corruption will stop. How true is it?
Don’t we have a Penal Code, Criminal Code, laws against dowry, right to information, right to education, the food bill and what not. How many of our problems are solved? Rather new laws help corruption. Most of the acts provide a mechanism of a chain of bureacracy to be tackled to achieve the results. And while you try to jump over the red tapism, what you do is pay cash and move forward. Each law is a corruption in itself.

And then now to enact another law to help stop corruption?

We have a central vigilance commission, anti-corruption bureau, the judiciary…whats the solution. Is there any guarantee that the people heading these cannot be bribed? Can we not bribe the lokpal too? That should not be difficlut to achieve in the years to come.

Nope, a law is not a solution to our problems. Jan Lokpal is just a legal framework. Even Kasab is able to battle the legal framework and has already survived years on after the 26/11 and spend crores of our rupees on a daily basis.

The solution is CHANGE your attitude. From the ration card to the income-tax officer, from the pandu at the next signal to the TT at the next railway station, all we do is reach out for the ‘hari patti’ from our pockets. Why?

At one end you march the streets against corruption and the next moment you encourage them. Its rightly said, ‘Woh dukaan tab tak chalayega, jab tak customers aayega.’ Customers are you and me. If we stop paying those Rs 100 each and everytime, they will stop demanding it.

Now, the argument is, who has the time to waste when by paying a meagre Rs 100 I get my job done in minutes. The arguments is that normally it takes days to move a file from a table to another. Right? Then stop grumbling and complaining about it.

I have heard some friends say that now atleast Indians are not watching things happen. But what’s the use of walking on the streets, when we are the root cause of corruption?

The battle is on within us that corruption aint good, but then in real and practical life when the tables turn upon us, we do no think twice. So, either go full-fledged against corruption or STFU.

Now, another debate is that we bribe just a few hundred rupees and the scam is worth crores. The logic is plain simple. We earn a few thousands so our solution is in hundreds. They earn in crores so they solve there problem also in crores. Before pointing fingures at others, look at yourself first.

Now, back to the movement. I do not consider Anna Hazare Ji a Hero like many others do. I am not bothered if there team stays united or not. I don’t give a damn if there are allegations against the team. The only good thing about the team is that they could get the nation united over a cause. If Anna Ji really wants to make a difference, then make everyone SWEAR that they will not bribe an official again. When he succeeds in doing so, that’s when I would consider him a role model. I agree no-one has been able to gather a momentum like he has, but what’s the use. Eventually we are back to square one. The corruption saga is going to continue, be there a Lokpal, or not.

Neither did I support the Ramlila hungama las tym, nor will I do it this tym.

For all believers of Anna Ji. No offence meant. I respect him as a person and his cause not his movement.

nd yes…all rights…duties…responsiblities r jus parts or components of it..

coz itz U whu has to define…

hw much to Expect from a person…

nd wen too take d Expectation to the exponential level of Demand…

nd ultimately d last resort…Complaints…wen d Expectation turned into Demand is not accomplished…

so basically its all about categorizing the different professional & personal relationships…based on…

whom you think dat expectations are also too high to think about…

nd den about persons whom you jus don’t expect but rather demand…

nd den finally compilation of d final list…over which you think u hav d ryt to complaint..

d las clause is applicable wen u thnk u can use d following Hindi lyn,

“Tu apna hain, Haq Banta hain Yaar…”

Its ultimately upto u to categorize ppl … coz derz no well-defined principle of bifurcation…

but its very important to hav a balance between the three even with d closest person…

coz even if u go overboard on 1 of dem…it changes d entire damn equation..

bringing in a lot of unwanted twists nd turns…

nd d lesser d demands…lower d chances of getting hurt…

nd lower d complaints…higher d happiness quotient between the two…coz here u r happy wid d way d opposite person has been treating u as…

Expect…yes u shld…but make sure dat its a limited level of expectation…nd from the ryt person…

nd not ne random person u meet on ur pathway…

lol…

I am sorry guys…lekin aadat se majboor hoon…(I have become habitual due to my noble profession)

dat I have even started auditing the movie storyline nd stuff..

but don’t worry, here the final report is with a difference…

its basically a movie with a blend of many small lessons weaved into one…

nd I am sure…most of you must have overlooked all of these…

(in case if you have seen it)

1) When money come’s easy, you do not value it.

They earned a lot, but just wanted to spend as soon as they got it, not bothering to save even a penny, so they always had to fall back on their con tricks.

2) Its always lonely at the top.

Karan aka Shahid didn’t have his friends or girlfriend by his side when he had achieved all he wanted. He was lonely inspite of having all the physical luxuries he lacked the emotional comfort level.

3) Never let ego override you and your friendship.

That was the main reason why Karan’s friends gradually drifted away from him.

4) Do not believe in ” the other person is what he/she is because of me”.

Remember the conversation between Karan and Chandu at the restaurant, when Chandu decided to call it quits.

Or between Zing and Karan, after Chandu had bashed Zing up.

5) Speak up when needed.

Have the guts, speak the truth and walk away when the time demands so. It will stop from developing further cracks.

Confront your friend, make them realise the ground reality, do not leave them on their own. (This is one thing I hated about the movie.)

Again it was part of the conversation between Karan and Chandu.

6) If your best friend dates your ex, be cool about it.

(P.S : I am sorry on a personal front I am totally against such a situation, but respect the two of them in this case)

7) Your friends will be yours for life.

No matter what brews between you and them, they will be the first to stand by you when you need some friend by your side.

Take the first step specially when you realise that it was your mistake, they will be more then happy to hug your friendship once again.

8 ) Do not deal in money matters with your friends.

Yes, money can be a cause of many problems between friends, specially when even one of the two is careless about cash in hand.

or probably in the conversation between Zing and Karan where they both make each other realise how much they had earned or spent for the other.

9) Dream’s are not accomplished in your sleep.

Have a huge vision, dream big, nothing wrong in that, but just do not walk on the wrong path. But you indeed need that big idea.

You are bound to fall flat on your face.

I am sure you do not want to even spend 1 day in jail, leave 6months, & all of us do have Jazz Mamu.

Ok, now you may have not watched this movie, then you will actually catch up on these points when you see it.

(And I am sorry a good part of it might have been a bouncer, but the message is clear.)

And those who had, watch it again, to realise what I am talking about.

Now,

the topic may make you wonder, that how contradicting and conflicting is this one with my earlier post.

But mind you, the circumstances that force us to do this, are also totally opposite.

What here I desire to stress upon is when is it actually time to take the bold decision of,

“Putting your friendship at stake.”

And before I forge ahead, people will be up in arms against me to argue that, there is something called ‘Personal Space.’

Then let me enlighten you, that there is no such word between true friends and plus the circumstances that force you to take the plunge is very not personal, coz after all you belong to that PERSONAL circle.

How many of your friends are addicted to,

Smoking

Drinking

mayb drugs

or something else…

and according to you how much is too much.

Just coz I don’t do or believe in something doesn’t mean that I am right and you are wrong.

That’s why I never stop them for trying something, but you need to stop them from living with that something.

So, the issue that crops us is that when is it high time to ask them to call it quits.

The problem here is, that this could cause a fall out even among the best of friends, as they call it a way of life and find you as an intrusion.

That’s when I believe, take the decision.

Go beyond normal limits, cross all boundaries, but make sure he/she gets rid of the habit.

By this I mean, do whatever is needed, break their trust, shatter their comfort zone, WHATEVER.

Yes, you may lose your friendship, but then at least your friend will be happy and kicking.

And somewhere down the line, seeing him laugh will bring a tear in your eyes (with a smile on your face) and this will be better than the waterdroplets coming out when you see him battling between life and death at the hospital, just coz you couldn’t muster up the courage to take corrective action.

And if you think, the friendship is more important than be ready to lose your friend.

Now,

its upto you to decide, what’s important,

“The relationship or the person who completes the relationship.”

i personally dnt contact SOME of my frnds coz of dis 3-letter word,

its jus dat v lost tch due to some reason…mayb sm fyt…or probably jus a misunderstanding…

nd den v go lyk…

y shld i approach him/her…i dnt need him/her…if dey need me den dey will call me…

but i dnt thnk v r rong always in takin up dis approach…

well basically dis decides hw mch d oder person meant to us…

v rememba dem every oder day but yet dnt wanna dial der number…

nd den wid tym v tend 2 live widout dem…though neva 4get dem…

one reason dat I can defend dis action is dat,

u dnt do dis wid every frnd of urz…its lyk 1 outta 10…wen u thnk dat ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…

argument accepted…but dis does nt work wid all…

nd if u try d apply to all principle den either u hav very few frnds for lyf…nd worse u dnt deserve to be called a frnd…

Exam Fever…

Well, yes its the exam time again….with many more people around me appearing for the grand finale of school exams….Boards…

Does it deserve the importance…or it is just hyped up….

frankly i am clueless…even after appearing for boards twice (10th & 12th b4 ne1 thngs dat i flunked)

but den I used 2 njoiii d period a bit…studyin was neva as much fun as during boards…though d tension was never less…

with parents, teachers, relatives focusing on us, stating as if boards is d next world war….and then friends trying 2 find an xcuse for some casual tp on d xcuse of asking a doubt…etc…

indeed a lot of pressure does come from within…and then forgetting whtever v had studies an hour after closing the book….going blank at times….sleepless nights etc…

but at the end the best last month in skewl (4 12th graders)….and an unforgettable everlasting/never ending month….coz CBSE exams have so many holidays tht u jus wish dey wer neva der…

All the Best to all appearing 4 ne xams.

Do well.. put in your best & leave the rest on ur luck…

Slumdog Millionaire…

A must watch movie for every person, whether an Indian or not.

Its nothing specific about India. Its just about a paricular segment of India,and then they have hardly shown the life of slums, surely not the way certain people have actually over-reacted, that it depicts India in the wrong sense.

Why can’t they see the positive side of it?

Its about childhood love, simplicity of kids, and lots more to learn about.

In the movie for the sake of his love, Jamal does whatever is necessary, and at the end he does succeed, he does win his love Latika.

Life is the same, if you strive for something, that something(could be someone also) can’t be forbidden to you for long.

And then it has given hopes to Indians for an Oscar, the most prestigious award for cinematic excellence.

Well even the movie is about hope, isn’t it? Hope to get rid of the poverty to lead a decent life.
